HTML5 / Webkit voice input , Speech to text live chat.
IMsupporting are always trying to make the system more use friendly. This is where HTML5 comes in. HTML5 enables live chat software like IMsupporting to use more and more of your PC's power on the internet. Using HTML5's latest feature " Voice input " we can capture your voice from a microphone and turn it into text for your live chat conversations.
How does it work?
We utilise the "webkit" voice input technology, This is available on "webkit" browsers ( namely Google Chrome )
When you see a small microphone icon on the right hand side of your text boxes you can click the icon to enable voice input. Once you have finished talking, Your data will be sent to googles voice API and converted to text for you to use in your live chat. What browsers are supported?
Only Google Chrome is currently supported however more should be supported in the future. This is a limitation of the browser and not of the IMsupporting system
You can download Google Chrome here.
