Add IMSupporting to Your Wix Website

Wix uses a custom code install rather than a traditional plugin. Add the IMSupporting widget site-wide, publish the site, and test the chat launcher on your live pages.

If you are installing IMSupporting on a Wix website, the quickest path is to use Wix Custom Code and apply the chat widget across all pages. For the full Wix-specific walkthrough and screenshots, use ChatForWix.com/install.php.

1. Get Your IMSupporting Setup Ready

Create your account first, then get the correct widget details for your site from the IMSupporting dashboard. For most customers, the safest source is the main installation guide and your account-specific setup area.

  • Create or log in to your IMSupporting account.
  • Use your assigned site identifier rather than example placeholder values.
  • Keep the Wix dashboard and the Wix guide open in separate tabs while you work.

2. Open Wix Custom Code

  1. Sign in to Wix and open the site dashboard you want to update.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Scroll to Development & integrations.
  4. Open Custom code.
Wix places this area inside the site settings screen rather than the page editor. That means you can deploy the widget once instead of pasting code into each page manually.

3. Add the Chat Widget Site-Wide

Add a new custom code snippet for IMSupporting, then choose the same placement used in the Wix-specific guide.

  • Name the snippet clearly, for example IMSupporting Live Chat.
  • Apply it to All pages.
  • If Wix asks when to load the code, allow it on each new page.
  • Place the code in Body - end so the chat launcher loads cleanly after the main page content.

4. Publish and Test

  1. Click Apply in the Wix Custom Code panel.
  2. Publish the Wix website.
  3. Open the public site in a new tab or incognito window.
  4. Wait for the chat bubble to appear and send a short test message.
  5. Confirm the conversation reaches your IMSupporting dashboard.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

The Wix chat widget is not showing

Check that the website was published after adding the snippet. Wix dashboard changes do not appear on the live site until publishing is complete.

Should the code go in the head or body?

Use Body - end. That is the recommended placement in the Wix-specific installation flow.

I updated the code but still cannot see the launcher

Test in a private window, clear cache, and temporarily disable aggressive browser extensions that may block scripts while you validate the install.

Can IMSupporting help if I get stuck in Wix?

Yes. Use our free integration assistance page if you want hands-on help after following the guide.
